Got out with Johnny Cache Hunter who has been super busy with family and not been able to go hunting very much.
We started out with no specific place in mind and headed out route 2 West. Drove by a couple spots we have done well at in the past but decided to keep looking. About 45 minutes into the drive he takes a quick turn and says I got a place I have not been to for a couple years and hopefully he can remember how to get there. Johnny has a great sense for finding good spots to hunt so I just sat back for the ride. After a few turns and another 10 minutes he pulls over at a little park with a stone tower and off we go.
He decides to park a hundred yards or so before the park since it is on a fairly busy street in an upscale area and he didn't want to attract too much attention. We get out of the car and get ready, Knee pads utility belts with all the tools, Johnny with his suspenders with everything a modern day Treasure Hunter would have attached and off we go.
My first target is about 4 inches down and it is an old Mickey Mouse ornament in excellent condition most likely brass and looks like it is from the 40’s or 50’s, my next target is a 1940 wheat penny, then an old thimble flattened out which broke as soon as I touched it, next a key (you all know I am the key master), a couple bullet casings (9mm), some type of name plate (unreadable) and a 5 Play Dough token. Also found $2.22 in clad and 2 wheat pennies 1940 & 1957
Johnny found some older clad from the 60, not silver but close in date range along with a few wheat pennies and a Horse Shoe which he gave to me (since I am the gambler and need the luck).
All in all, a great hunt with a GREAT friend.
Hope you enjoy pictures.
