I sold a piece of equipment that had been sittin' around for a long time. We delivered it from Houston to Baton Rouge just to get it gone as fast as possible (excellent equipment, just hard to find a need). We came upon Lake Charles and throughout the entire area all the way across the 18 mile bridge there was some form of police vehicle in sight at all times. They were pulling over everyone, many with two cops involved, with anything wrong with their vehicle or tags, or going over the speed limit by the smallest amount. They were in state vehicles, county (parish) vehicles, civilian vehicles with "Police" on the window, darked out rhinoes...you name it. We were warned prior to the trip and didn't get yanked, but it was surreal. It was like being in a movie; a comedy. It was a carnival atmosphere mixed with disbelief and a not insignificant quantity of pucker factor. I guess Louisiana is broke. A real 'police state'.

On the way back I saw something interesting. We were back in Texas and we saw someone pulled over by a motorcycle cop on the other side of the highway. I could not see the entire bike, but I swear it was a big a$$ Texas State Trooper sport bike. Anyone know if the Texas is running crotch rockets now?

My only question is did you see a camera crew and Steven Segal around :dontknow: :laughing9:

I think they went to a split system with the state, the police get 55% of what they can shake out, the state gets the rest.

They call it "user fees" instead of taxes.
