Maybe this will help someone that is just starting out and maybe answer something for someone else.View attachment 911469View attachment 911472View attachment 911474This is JMO knifes were used mostly by the women for work and they where not very big blades. Your nice blades where used by the men for battle and for show, you just would not put a lot of work in a blade and use it to cut up a deer. I have said before all you need to skin and 1/4 a deer or what ever would be a nice flake and if it broke you just nocked another off a spall an went back to work. The center page shows where the blunts come from as some people call them, they where just hafted scrapers. Only a trained eye will spot wear on tools such has flake tools, wear sometimes shows up has a polish in small areas, just because they took some flakes off of them does not mean wear, but if they took time to flake an edge on a tool or a flake they had a special use for it in mind. Don't work to hard today, I had to take some vacation days to stay home with my wife, she's very sick, spent last 3 days in hospital out of town.

I just said a few words regarding her speedy recovery..Best wishes to you both.
I'm sorry to hear that.

I use to think nobody around me hunted until I went to a local show for artifacts. Then I found out there were quite a few hunters in my area and got to know some of them.

Monsterrack, Will keep your family in my prayers. Please let me know how she is doing. You may pm me if you wish. Kat

You take care of your wife right now. That is the most important thing. Thoughts and in my prayers. Thank you for helping and sharing all you do.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers, my wife had a small operation on her hand and it got infected and the infection got in her blood stream. They had to go back in her hand and remove a lot of stuff and scrape the bone. She is still not making much sense when she talks, I thought it was the pain meds but doctor said it is the infection , it has gone septic if that makes sense. So I have been going through boxes of artifacts and making a few x-mas gifts while I have this time at home.

Man. Sorry to hear about your wife. I hope she gets much better real soon. A good spouse is priceless. Don't overdo yourself, keep healthy for her. I've had to take care of my wife many times (back trouble) and you have to rest so you can help her. I'm rambling so I hope this makes sense.

Yes this is a great post rack and I hope your wife gets better fast thoughts and prayers !!!! Your a great guy and great man to stay by her side !!!!!
