I decided to do another water hunt and went to a place I detect every summer. I was hoping for some coins and a at least one piece of gold or silver. Got there at sunup and detected for three hours. I worked the swim area working back and forth trying to make sure I didn’t miss anything good. My eyes spotted a lot of stuff that my detector could not. I found a dollar bill on the bottom, a swim mask, a snorkel, and 2 swim goggles.
I found the usual bits of junk jewelry, some pop tabs, fishing sinkers and some foil. Along with 15 coins, total money value for the morning $3.18.
I found an elephant bracelet marked SKL(brass I think), a 14k white gold dangle earring, a stainless Southern Designs ring, a 925 ring marked Nothing is Impossible, a man’s 10k wedding band with 10 small diamonds (marked 0.25 diamond weigh), a 14k earring with a square cz and, and an earring back marked 925.
The diamond ring was the last find before the crowds started showing up in the water. It seems like when you are done detecting and you are swingin on your way out you frequently get luck and make the best find of the day. Best diamonds I have found for a while.
I change out of my wets suit and headed to the club to do a little land hunting. I have found civil war bullets, silver and gold there before and was hoping to up my count for the day.
Spent 2 and a half hours in the hot sun swingin away, but none of the specials I was hoping for. Found 66 coins with a value of $6.35, two more pitching horseshoes, a half inch breaker bar for sockets, an Eagle lock, a Best Westren motel key, and a 1983 British one pound coin.
A nice day over all, good coin count, nice jewelry, interesting artifacts and the ice make for a cool day.
May your coil find good things. Keep swingin.
