Hi folks, I wanted to get opinions on this comb found on a 1912 washington state railroad logging camp. It is a lice comb based on the tight tines. I also want to point out the comb is deeply engraved with the word "Wizard" and the word is painting in gold leaf. Also "no.330" is engraved as well. I know many people will say Bakelite or celluloid, but weren't those materials poured in a mold? These tines seem too tight to come from a mold, they are extremely flexible, and seem carved and the other combs I have found from the camp are not flexible (except the hard rubber combs)
the letter "w" in wizard also looks to have a "whale tail" split in old English lettering.
i have seen pictures of lice combs, even ancient lice combs, I have seen lice combs with the same design, but none with engraving like this one. Any help would be appreciated.
