Re: A little button help

I believe that "P B CO" on the back of the button is the mark of the Patent Button Company of Waterbury, CT.

A button patent issued on December 9, 1924, the same date as on the button you found, was assigned to them.

Follow this link.

Re: A little button help

Thanks PBK.

Nope that was the way it came out of the ground. I know because it was in a piece of ground that was frozen solid and I had to hold it between my hands to thaw the dirt out so I could get to the middle of the clod and get the thing out.

Re: A little button help

Just giving you a little grief. You asked if we could tell you anything about the button. Maybe not as funny as I thought but a lot of us do seem to ding the good stuff when we dig it and the pull tabs come out perfect.

No if you were attempting humor BB and I both laughed when we read it. So you nailed it! The site has what appears to be a trash dump on it based on what we find in that area or it is where they burned trash so we are continuing to pull odds and ends out of that location as well.
