I hunted the tree plantation at work yesterday for a couple of hours and came away with these. I'm not sure what type of points they are, but there seems to be a variety of material used.

Does anyone know what the gray point would have been used for? It reminds me of a drill, but most drills I've found/seen have been thinner. I've also been finding several pieces of pottery, but nothing too big so far; the corps material I found has been used for several of the points found here.

Pieces are better than nothing at all. You have a couple of good ones maybe a preform or scraper.

2nd row from bottom in the middle looks like a hook for an atlatl. Nice finds!

I believe the color is primarily due to all of the clay in this area; a lot of the material I find is located in area comprised of clay, when you walk up the field a little it becomes very sandy.

The color I see on your points are from heat treating and the type of chert that they are.

We were talking about the pottery pieces, but that may be the same as well. Almost all of the pottery I find here has a reddish to gray tint and blackened on the inside.
