Did a door knock today and got permission from a nice old woman that had to be pushing 90. Found 8 wheats, a nice Merc, an old spoon, part of a 1925 PA hunting license and a 1933 Ford Worlds Fair token. Not sure what the other thing is but it is heavy. In the middle of detecting she asked if I could run to the dollar store to pick her up some cat food. It paid off because she said that I can come back anytime that I want.

Great finds mate. I would be very satisfied with what you found. Very cool.

It's nice to help out the elderly. It even pays off some time. Good hunt.

The next time you detect her yard a sit down and a talk will probably make her day.

I think it is so awesome that you helped her out. Good deeds always come back to you in rewarding ways. Congrats on the nice finds.

You did well. And gained a standing invitation that could lead to some of her neighbors. Congratulations

Even had you not found a thing and she told you never to return, it was very honorable of you to help her out. Everything else is just gravy.

Kudos to you for helping her out. Part of the quid pro quo of life. It pays to be good. :notworthy:

Good on you
May you find lots of silver and Gold.

Kudos, a great story! I wholeheartedly agree with what Back of the Boat says...most older people I meet, especially single, want nothing more than some quality face time...I have a forever permission at a 200 acre farm, and the lonely, older woman comes out to greet me and we end up talking for an hour or so while her 2 dogs whiz all over my machine lol...awesome post! Ddf
