dug this today in a cornfield, all i got is it looks like an iron and it is made out of lead, any help is appreciated

Looks like a base to a ww1 soldier toy maybe. They were made of lead. Any ww1 history where your searching? I've found some

its an old cornfield, ive been pulling early 1800s coins and buttons like crazy out of there, even a draped bust (olive oil soaking for date)
