This post is actually for my last two hunts which were on Sunday and earlier today. After reading Abe's post from yesterday I was really fired up to get out to some of my older sites. As I was walking along I got a strong 84 signal at about 6 inches. It was definitely a coin and when I started to brush the dirt off of it I recognized Britannia- a colonial era copper! It turns out to be a 1749 KGII- just my third colonial copper ever. Unfortunately I dinged it with my digger but it's still in pretty good shape- the date is very sharp and the lettering around the rim on both sides is clear. To finish up my hunt I got a strong quarter signal at 8 inches. I was thinking that maybe finally I would be getting a quarter out of the site- but to my complete surprise when I got the target out of the hole I realized that I had another Indian- a very sharp 1868. Sunday's hunt at the same site produced two other Indians: and 1881 and an 1891 that was bent into a love token. Not bad for just over three hours worth of hunting! Thanks for looking.
