A "KAINTUCK" in Israel and Egypt-3rd UPDATE Posted -SUCCESS AT LAST!
Greetings to everyone,
3RD-UPDATE: 12/10/07 FINALLY... though "technologically challenged" I found the photo re-sizing magic buttons hidden (and I DO mean hidden!) in my photo-editing software on the old PC! I have practiced a bit and can now post those amazing photos taken in Israel that I wanted to share with all of you. Since this thread is starting to get a bit unwieldy I am going to post those photos in a new thread that I will begin entitled: A KAINTUCK IN ISRAEL, PART 2. Please go to that thread when it appears on the Kentucky forum to see these amazing pics. Thanks to all for your patience!
2nd UPDATE: 11/13/07 Well folks, I finally got that USB cable needed to upload my Israel pictures from the new camera and succeeded in doing that only to find that "NORMAL" setting on picture quality on the camera means that the pictures average about 2MB each... too big to post on TNET. I have reset the camera to the correct file size but that does not help me with the pictures already taken that I wanted to post. Are there any "super geeks" among you TNET'ers that can help me reduce the number of pixels in my stored pictures If so I would appreciate any help you can give me... I REALLY want to post these pictures as they will show you artifact sites with thousands of 2000 year old artifacts still in place that probably have never been posted before on TNET. If I cannot solve the picture file size problem I will re-shoot the small amount of artifacts I have access to at the moment and post those. I apologize to all for the difficulty I am having posting these finds... it just goes to show that knowing how to find treasure does not keep AnOldPro from being "technologically challenged when it comes to mastering the use of computers and digital cameras.
1st UPDATE: 10/31/07 Here is a picture of coins found in a cache that was hidden shortly prior to the destruction of Jerusalem in 69 CE. They are mainly Roman and Herodian and all shown are bronze. This pic came from a family members camera. As previously mentioned... no further details will be given at this time regarding the find. As soon as I can obtain a replacement USB cable for my new Sanyo VPC-T700 Digital Camera and can download my pictures taken in Israel I will post more. ~DC
Just got back from an incredible trip to the Middle East. I have some exciting pictures to share with all of you... INCLUDING TREASURE FOUND. I took one of those new little digital cameras with me and discovered when I got back that I do not have the wire to connect it to my computer to download the pictures so... as soon as I can get a replacement for it I will post the pictures on this thread. Sometime back I was challenged by an "ordinary treasure hunter" to show treasure found and I am going to respond to that challenge. I am going to post a picture showing a number of 2000 year old coins with considerable value that are only a small part of a cache found in Jerusalem. No other details will be given out about this cache at this time as it is an ongoing project so please don't ask. I can tell you this... MANY priceless treasures have been and are being discovered in Israel. I personally saw over $20 million in rare coins and gold Roman jewelry that have been recovered by Israeli Archaeologists (Good thing that they are not human like the rest of us... they might be tempted to "misplace" some of these rare and beautiful artifacts).
While there I discovered that Israeli archaeologists have discovered the tomb of King Herod of Biblical fame and there is supposed to be a HUGE treasure buried with him. I went to the site where the secret excavations are under way and got run when I tried to photograph what was going on. I will post pictures of the site where the "archies" are working including one of three of the excavators working on the site I got to pose for me before the head "archie" threw me off the site.
I was also once again in the ruins of the Biblical city of Gomorrah and will also post pictures of what was found there on this expedition. The artifacts found are indeed "treasure" in their own right. I will also post pics taken by me at Caesarea showing the incredible layers of history exposed by the sea just waiting for someone to dig up and sift through for the treasures they most surely contain.
In my humble opinion, there is no place like Israel for heating the blood of a lover of history and artifacts to the temperature of molten volcanic lava!
I also got to participate in a project to help Israeli archaeoologists sift through tons of dirt dug from the Temple Mount in Jerusalem where King Solomon's temple once stood by the Muslims during a Mosque expansion there. Me and my family found several buckets of artifacts on that project including gold covered glass tiles from the 13th century and several Roman era coins.
As always, it was good to go and good to come home. Kain-tucky is a great place to be in the Fall!.
I will add the words "PICTURES POSTED" to this thread as soon as I can get them on here.
Hope all of you are doing well with your detecting adventures. Stay tuned...
