Hello folks, getting out to dig a little here and there. The last few pits were all ABM stuff. So we had to break our little drought and jump back into pre 1900. Did two pits in 90 degree heat. It’s getting brought as we age a bit. Can’t seem to stay hydrated like we used to. But we got it done with my strong nephew there to push some dirt.

Started with a relatively small pit. Appeared to be about 5 feet deep. Found a few things and then my nephew Nate pulls out a cool Consolidated Fruit jar. Mason’s Patent with three backwards N’s. Nice find. Really no issues either which is fairly rare to find a Mason whole. A Kickapoo showed up when Don got in. A few slicks followed but nothing much more. Although a small top showed up that was from a flask. Most likely an eagle but we never found the other pieces. Strange. Finished up that pit then moved to the fence line for the next.

We were still in the era of 1895-1905 so that was good. No ABM!!!! Located a small amber Lambert’s Lithiated Hydrangea. Nice little renal fix bottle. A couple of crazy syringes. For who knows what? Got to the base and found a nice local tooled crown top quart beer. Nate got back in and found it’s twin!! Pulled out a cool little creamer jar in perfect condition. Must have been an accident to toss that in whole. Nate also pulled out the Royal Diamond Marshall Cycle badge plate. Wish it weren’t cracked and bent but still a neat find. Finished the day a couple pounds lighter from the heat. Ha ha. It was a good day to dig. Next one we hit we hope to get a little earlier that 1890. Got my eyes on an 1876 home. Have fun out there everyone and be safe. Jgas. Great dig !!!!! Always nice to find a Kickapoo, love the bike tag !!!!! Congrats !!

nice finds is that a glass syringe

Congrats on the nice dig! :occasion14:

Awesome dig jgas, I love the jar and the "Royal Diamond" piece. Never seen that Lambert's before...

Keep 'em coming!

It's amazing that the jar endured that pit for all these years.....I find plenty in pieces. I drink lemon lime Gatorade with a spoon ful of added salt when I am in the bad heat...my wife scolds me for adding salt, so I do it secretly

Thanks for the replies everyone. The syringe is glass. All intact. Crazy. I’ll take ya up on the Gatorade salt idea village. Thanks. Jgas

Those are some fantastic finds, Gas. That Lambert's is just killer. Looks like the same folks that made Listerine?

I think the dig was well worth it. You got some good glass out of those two! I’m a fan of the mason jar, that’s a cool find. The bike plate is also cool. Can’t imagine why they threw that in??
