Yesterday kimsdad & I hunted the forest and while Neil was finding ALL the V-Nickels and Wheats ( ::))
I found a plated suspender shield, a tiny memo book and part of a lead seal.
Any ideas as to what this seal may have been part of?

Today I was out for maybe 30-minutes. . . then it started pouring rain >:(
Before it got really bad, I dug this half-cheek snaffle near the river bank.

Hey Mark, that memo book is really cool!!

It was so muddy it was hard to tell what was what out there!

Now I see what you were trying to describe to me over the phone... a half-cheek snaffle bit.

Sounds like something that could happen to ya if you didn't look where you were sitting in the woods. :tard:

You always find the coolest relics, and seem to know right away what they are!

Thanks Sherm! I was surprised there was still a little paint left on it. . . had no idea what it was until I got all the mud off.

Hey Bob, I wish I could remember what part of the woods I found that book. . . I'd really like to find the other half.

Thanks Tim!
The last entry in that book probably read: "Need more Cracker Jack" :P

Cool finds...like the rusty snaffle...my kind of digs.....What else did you dig along the river bank?

Christy, there's still a LOT of iron in that bank that I couldn't dig. . . too steep and it started pouring rain. Next week
You and the girls take care and find some gold :icon_sunny:

Nice little memo book! Nice to find cool relics like that to help hold you over until the coins start popping out.
