Let me start off by saying that 1124 is the address of a junk store in my town. Wall-to-wall junk. So much it's hard to walk down the aisles. My wife hates the place but I love it. They always advertise a yard sale every Friday and Saturday but it's the same stuff that the store carries the rest of the week.
My first good find was an old Sterling hand mirror with monogramed names on it that I will post soon. A few weeks after I purchased the mirror, I cruised back by there one Satuday and decided to stop. I walked to the same aisle that the mirror came from and there was a stack of silver-looking ashtrays bound with masking tape. 6 pieces...$2.
I picked them up and almost fainted when I turned them over. "Sterling" as clear as day on the back. I hurried to the counter and paid my $2 plus tax and couldn't wait to show the Mrs. what I had just found. She was very excited for me but she still hates to go into the store!
I have consistently found good stuff in that store every time I have been so there will be other posts coming soon.
I paid $2.16 for a total of 228.5 grams of Sterling - not a bad Saturday morning.
