Hello all,

Last Sunday, March 20, 2011 I went detecting in my grandmother's yard. Her house was built in 1929 and it looks beautiful!!! I started off the morning with a great signal reading "Quarter", it said 3 inches deep, so I dug. As I was digging a saw the rim of a pretty large silver coin, I thought to myself "What could this be???? Maybe my first silver quarter?" I popped the coin out and to my surprise, it was!!!! The coin turned out to be a 1950 Silver Washington Quarter, I was on CLOUD 9!!!! I went around detecting for 2 more hours and all I was getting were Wheat pennies. I decided to try way in the back by the fence and got a great sounding dime signal at ONE INCH!!!! I dug down thinking it would be a modern copper penny, but to my surprise again, it was a 1943-D Mercury Dime!!! I wondered what else there could be? I moved over about two feet and got another great shallow dime signal, dug down, and it was a 1950-D Roosevelt Dime (my first one)!!!! I took a break for a while to catch my breath, and I walked over and got the jumpiest signal ever!!!! Yet again I chose to dig it and I was AMAZED!!!! It turned out to be a 1928 Buffalo Nickel with a Wheat penny right next to it! I dug a total of 16 Wheaties! What an amazing day!!!!!

The same thought keeps running through my head.... "what if I hadn't dug that signal?"
