This is the first time I've ever posted my finds, a couple times I talked about them, but Steve and I went out today and put in 3 hard hours of hunting.

I took the Excal II to test it out, nobody told me just how heavy it was on land! Straight rod coming. So I used my CTX.

I know Steve bettered my number count, but I found the silver - a nice sterling ring I'm fond of:

Also got an ear pendent which may be silver, unmarked and haven't tested it yet.

And then the number count.

All clad and zincolns:

5 quarters
10 dimes
3 nickels
25 cents (sure got tired of digging these in that very tough grass)

For a total of $2.65

Also found 3 tent pegs.

And all the tabs & bottle tops went into my trash at home.

I got 16 quarters, 12 dimes, 5 nickels and 57 pennies and wore my butt out.

That's 90 coins!!!

And I thought I was tired!

Congrats on the silver ring Deepseeker. Part of today's treasure was hunting with a good friend. :occasion14:

I cleaned the ring and took a better picture. It weighs 2.11 gr.

Yeah, the zincs!!! And that tough grass - about the darned hardest to dig in I've ever encountered. Had to use that saw blade on the Leche to cut through them, several times for each flap. I only dug 25 zincs, but Steve dug 57 of the darned things. It got to the point that I started looking at VDI choosing whether to dig the signal or not. Got blisters today!

That ring looks like it's straight out of Mardi Gras! Congratz!

Earring looks like a puzzle piece...

I took it as a simple puzzle piece, but then omegared31 Said it was a symbol for autism. I didn't know that, and perhaps the previous owner didn't know it either. I just tested it with the Puritest kit and it came up green indicating it is silver plated.

Yesterday my brother and I learned how to use a Puritest Solutions test kit. The ear pendant puzzle piece is silver after all, tiny as it is, it's silver :)

We also learned about using the 18k gold solution to check silver as well - it works, saw that on Youtube.
