This has been a great help to me. In the block "feature name" type (historical), don't forget the parentheses. State, select Alabama, county, select your county and click send query. This will give you a list of all the historical sites known in your county. I like to sort them by city and click on "view & print all" at the bottom. This will list all sites in order by city on one page. Click on the site you wish to see. Not a lot of info given for the sites but if you click one of the links under mapping services you will get a map or aerial showing you the exact spot of the site with coordinates. I have found these to be inaccurate but they get me in the general area. Usually with a little more research and a lot of walking I can find the site. Talk to older people in the area, they usually know exactly where the site is. Good luck and hope this helps.
