They don't get much better than that one. Classic example. I don't know whats up with Hillsborough County but an incredible amount of perfect points have been found there. It's like all the best knappers said "Hey let's move to Tampa!"

Agree, definitely found some of my best there.

very nice. i live near a park that was inhabited by natives i wonder if i can find something around there.
Read the rules for your state on the DNR site but I’m pretty sure that would be a big no. No collecting on state land

That is a very nice point. Very symmetric and has the classic shape and form.

The minor edge ding may downgrade it slightly, but it does not distract from the overall beauty of the relic. A very nice and well-made relic.

congratulations on a great relic.

That was a angry shovel hurling moment (seriously).
Did you knick it with the shovel? Ive done that multiple times, the worst was a almost 6" blade broke it in half and took a small piece out of it, pisses ya off...

ok i just read you knicked it. the shovel giveth and taketh

that's the truth. Besides this I dinged the tip off a small Hillsborough. I once dug up a Kirk Stemmed point that crumbled in my hand . When I first looked at it the material looked as if it had hairline fractures all the way through it. I found it in a ancient fire pit and in a big tree root system. My guess it could have been over heat treated or the pressure of the roots over time did the damage. At least the shovel didn't do the damage on that one.

Ouch, yeah I've knicked a half dozen or so but this blade was the worst, hit it on the right broke it in half and took a chunk out of it,recently thinking about getting it restored,
