Back at my junky site for 3 !/2 hours after work today . Anything can show up on this site . Modern down to the early 18th century, The Fleam I found today which is the second one I have found from this site this year . I am estimating to be late 18th century to about 1830. Though they still used them for some ailments right up thru the War between the States . This one is also Identical to the first one I found . With no markings to be found on either specimen . to me this was the most signifigant find of the day . You see so few posted . Also picked up a 42 Washington , a Pontiac Token with a decent amount of gilt still on it , a 1916 and a 1944 Wheatie . Last but not least the toy guns and the Cereal premimun 1950's Lone Ranger Deputy Badge to complete the scene . Thanks for looking and Happy Hunting. MaineRelic

That badge is AWSOME!!! Nice finds!!!

For whatever it's worth, several fleams have been found on Olustee Battlefield, a Civil War site in Florida, Feb. 20, 1864. They were found near the field hospital site. I wonder if they were still being used for the original purpose, or for some other purpose...

Great finds. I especially like the Lone Ranger badge, That cleaned up nice!. The gun on the left might have been the Lone Ranger clicker pistol.
