Hit the low tide this morning. I am on the east coast and we had a strong East wind all night last night, I think this might have piled all of the coins in a nice line running parallel to the beach. I have never found a coin line like this one. I was finding coins every few inches. Of course I also found lots of trash mixed in with it. My pocket was full of so many coins that my shorts were coming off. At one point I thought I had a gold coin. It was a little larger than a quarter and really torn up. It was just a token from an amusement park but my real surprise was looking into my scoop and seeing this Indian Head Nickel staring back at me! :o

What are some of the oldest coins you guys find in the surf. This one is my oldest to date. ;D

Great find Stitclips, my oldest coins from the beach were a couple wheat pennies from the 50's found in the wet sand at the south Jersey shore on the same hunt.

way to go on the buf its something you don't see a lot of found at the beach

Hey! I found one the beginning of Sept and posted it as my first Buffalo, too. Although mine was a year older (1935) yours is in way better shape. I thought it was unusual to find that at the beach, too, and am glad that someone else also found one in the sand. thanks for posting it. And here's to many more unusual finds - may some of them be gold!!!! (or silver, or platinum or full of diamonds)....

Awesome coin find, especially at the beach. It always amazes me when old coins are found in the salt beaches. A few weeks ago I found an 1884 Morgan Dollar in the wet sand at the beach here. Come to find out, there have been other, and older, dollars found in the last few years here.

That Buff is in great shape...and a readable date to boot. Hope you have many more days like this one.
