Our friend and fellow miner/prospector “Alaska Jim” Foley passed away Saturday evening. He died peacefully in Medford, Oregon at a local hospital, having not awakened from recent quadruple heart bypass surgery.

Jim was a full-fledged miner and mining right advocate. Jim lived with his wife Linda along the Klamath River for many years. He operated The New 49ers forum from the beginnin.

Jim was my friend of many years and I will miss him along the river and in Happy Camp.

Sorry for your loss, but we're blessed to have known and had friends who share the same passions you do. The memories will always be with you to cherish.

Sincere condolences sent to you in the passing of your friend. Also to his wife. God's Speed to you during this time.

From Linda regarding the service and burial of
Jim Alaska.
Mike

It has taken time for Jim's daughter and I to get this put together and organized. Jim will be laid rest on:

Date: August 5th 2023
Time: 10:30 am
Place: Happy Camp Cemetery, California
Address: 123 Buckhorn Rd, Happy Camp CA 96039

There will only be a prayer said at the gravesite. His pastor will pass out flyers to direct those who want to attend Jim's memorial to the church where it will be held.

All who want to attend are welcome.

Linda

We're always used to having our good life-long friends always out there somewhere living life like we are, always ready to take our call to celebrate successes and plan the next adventure. Jim's in a better place, but the world is going to be less colorful for his friends and family for a while.

So sorry to hear about your friend Jim. I hope his wife will be ok with time.
