A rather large rim fire, no clear headstamp but you can see where the pin struck. It’s out of round but I figured it can’t get wider so I put calipers on the widest part right above the base where it was least crushed ... maybe a .45 maybe I’m doing it wrong

I appreciate any help.
 

Well thanks for pointing me in the right direction on the shell casing... this spot is a bit frustrating, I find all kinds of things but nothing to give me a good date and a lot of things I have no idea as to what they are.

Might be a spencer rim fire civil war era. Ive never found one so im just guessing but ive seen them found on you tube but not sure on lengh of cart......

The second artifact does remind me of a ratchet pawl.
