A Few Weekend Finds

I got out Sat. for a little while after work and headed to the Buyout. I tried a parking strip that I hadn't hit before, guess nobody else had either. In a short while, I'd located and dug a capgun which rang in as coin---I thought I'd cut a 1/2 circle big enough for the target but the knife caught and broke the trigger guard. :( There were also a couple of silver rosies a 53D and a 62D. Then up came a brass something that's about 2 1/2" across--maybe a doorknob plate or some kind of decorative sconce plate. However, there doesn't appear to have any screwholes in it. Sunday we hit a local park that had about 30 or more truckloads of dirt brought in for a BMX bike and skateboard park. Nothing but trash could be found in the piles but cans and trash. However, about 15' away, I got a nice beep, dug down and a 1916S Barber dime emerged from about 3".
Y'all thanks for looking.

BTW. Timberwolf---if you're reading this, the Barber was about a 1/2 block from your back door. ;) ;D

Thanks Gypsy. Sometimes it's the little things that make the day.

Nice triple play, congrats and Happy B-Day!

Thanks Bdoo. Wished it could have been a home run but a few base hits sometimes win the game.

Thanks Stan. I didn't count the 20D merc from the other day though. Now if only a Seated would show.

Never too late Ashleen. ;) Thanks. Kinda suprised about the park though. It's been hit hard over many years by quite a few very competent MDers. Just shows that patience pays a little dividend every so often.

Thanks Nana! We're kinda partial to that Barber as well. Evy was there as well. Told her OK time to go home, I found my goodie. LOL--it was her idea to come along. Well to make a long story short, next thing we know--we wind up in Dexter, Kansas where she got plenty of practice on the football field practicing pinpointing and digging several dollars in clad.

Stoney,

You dog you :D
Good job. I should hunt my area better huh? ;D

oooooOOOOO000000H Could be an old murder weapon.

Stoney, that's what I call cutting to the chase. . . no Merc's found in between :o

Too bad about the trigger guard, that ground out there can be a bit testy to dig in.

By the way, Happy B-Day (late ::))

WC, thanks for the belated. As for the chase, there was a 1920D merc. found a few days before that. Things are slowing down, total silver for the last 4 weeks were 1 Wash., 4 Rosies, 2 Mercs., and 1 Barber dime. :( Guess I gotta get out more.
