Was on my way to work yesterday morning and said to myself "self, why don't we take the day off today?". And you all know what myself said. Well after the morning crud that I putted around the house doing, the afternoon and the trails beckoned so there I went. Hit the normal areas that I usually do and din;t come up with anything except iron. I think I did find the bowl of the spoon that the neighbor kid I brought there last week found the handle to. It was in the same area and by the same hole that he found the handle. This spoon bowl came out of the ground exactly as you see...no tarnish at all. Nice silver shell or scallop pattern.
Went up to the spot where the flat buttons and coins were but nothing but iron.
Hit another trail that I had found some relics on and sure enough a few more saw the light of day. The only thing is I have no idea what they are. The two circular items were not found together but look like they were from the same item. The other frame looking thing has something like a "D" and an "S" in a diamond and circle design.
Also found a bent spoon that at one point I had found the handle to one of these flatware because it is the same pattern and has "US SILVER CO" stamped on the back.
ANyway, does anyone have any ideas on what the two circular things are and also the frame thing? The circular items are 1 and 3/4 inches in diameter and the fram thing measures 2 and 7/8 by 2 and 1/8 inches. Looking at the twoi circular things they seem to be from an old pocket watch I guess. There are no words on them at all but on the one picec that is not a full circle there are hash marks that make some sort of increment, either for seconds or whatever. Possibly to adjust the speed of the watch.
Well thanks for reading the post and taking a look at the pics and hopefully someone will help me figure out what these items are.
Thanks
