First and second pictures are a rock that is quartz or calcite and looks to be tourmaline in it. Dark green is the color of it but I am not sure what it is. The other two made my Diamond Selector go crazy. The one is clear and the other has a yellow tint to it. Just wanted to share and maybe get some good info from anybody. Thanks.

man, i'd like to know where you can get *that* price for regular tourmaline -- I suppose it depends on how big your crate is, yeah? Realistically, if you have a quality gem of the usual colors, you're looking at $3 to $10 a carat after it's cut.

All tourmaline/mica/matrix from Pala here:

PS: My guess is the first two are quartz with mica inclusions. The other two I would have guessed as being quartz shards were it not for your diamond selector response. Information as to where you found them might be helpful. Any history of diamonds in the area on Mindat?

Thanks JLeonhardy for the reply. The first two pictures may be quartz but there is no Mica in them as I know what Mica looks like and the mineral in the rock is at least a 7 hardness and I can not scratch quartz with it and the other two pieces were found alone in the ground. I know all websites only talk about Arkansas when it comes to Diamonds but who knows what a person will find and where they will find it. When you stick a shovel in the ground you never know what you will find and you are the first to see it. How wonderful is that? Thanks.

If we are talking facet grade custom cut some rare colours may go for those prices. Sometimes more.
