Walked my usual hotspot yesterday along a stream after some heavy rains. Western KY.

Has to be something close by cause those flakes aren’t stained yet. Sometimes I wonder how many are just a inch under my feet when I’m walking.

Are there nodules of flint in that creek? Modern flintknppers leave tons of stuff like that in creeks they hunt. Testing nodules leaves lots of flakes/debitage. I’ve left my share in 6 different states.

I have no idea. It's on private land, this dirt road along the stream was used as a cattle trail for at least several decades, probably since the 1960s. The rain keeps washing out these new flake shards, they seem to be pretty deep in the ground. I've also uncovered a few in the adjacent field after plowing.
