Over the past couple of weeks, I've found some strange things I can't identify, so I thought I'd ask the experts!

This one says "PAT APPLD FOR" on the top, along with some other small letters that are unidentifiable.

A lid off something? Has a cool design with some sort of plating.

This one's obviously a bullet, but how old? I don't think it's civil war but it's not fired. Found in the middle of the woods under a overhanging rock.

Thanks a lot!

Can't say about the lid and ring, but the bullet is post CW. Caliber is somewhat iffy, from a pistol (9mm, 10mm, .45 ACP, etc).

The bullet is a 20th Century copper-jacketed bullet for a .38 or 9mm pistol. It is called "copper jacketed" because it has a thin copper layer covered the bullet's lead body. The photo below shows a sawed-in-half copper jacketed bullet, on the left in the photo.

Your bullet has been fired, because enlarging the photo shows slight rifling-marks on the copper jacket.
