No idea. interesting find though. Can we get some sort of size reference?

No idea. interesting find though. Can we get some sort of size reference?

It's shown in the first pick next to a newer belt buckle and a bullet casing that should show the size but if not I could take new ones.

Is the small buckle from a shoe? And if so how old?

I found it at the base of a 100+ year old hill climb that has yielded quite a bit of old automobilia but wouldn't it have to be VERY old to have this type of handle?

I'm thinking 50's to early 60's. Seems familiar to me, but I can't place it exactly. Probably an inside handle. You might post it on the 'What is it' forum.

Hmm thanks, I did under "pat 1921" but no1 had responded yet.

Its just funny, somehow-- I am trying to think of all the cars I ever rode in as a kid. I just -know- I've seen that handle in one of 'em, but just can't put my finger on it! I remember tracing the grooves with my fingernail. Maybe it was a grandparent's car-- or truck? This is going to bother me until I find out! :tongue3: I hope you get a response soon. Good luck!

Haha you sound right on the money because like i said the spot I dug it they have been running a hill climb with cars and trucks for over 100years so being car related sounds right.

Might be a window lock for a casing window - hard to tell true size from photo

Here's it with a quarter
