I got a call from my brother in law asking if I was interested in going to look in a field that he has access to.Of course my answer was "heck yes"! It's been rather slow for me lately either the fields weren't ready, the creeks are all at flood stage or I've been working. The hunt started off with little to nothing being found. I figured we see more flint in the recently plowed field but, that wasn't the case. A few back halves, tips, and really beaten up points.Towards the end of our hunt my luck changed and I found these three within an hour.

That thread title should have read " A few keepers from today" I guess spell check or auto correct got me. Or, I just can't spell? :laughing7:

Very nice don't know much about southern points but i like those. And I don' care where there form I get the point. Thanks for posting.

Nice points!

Nice finds! I was looking through the guidebook on gulf coast points…is that serrated one a Cottonbridge or Elora or neither?..either way it is a killer!

:icon_thumleft: Those are some really cool finds! I agree that the large serrated point is a dandy, but I think that the little one at the top is a beauty.

WOW!!! YOU HAD A GREAT HUNT! VERY NICE POINTS!! MAY YOUR FINDS CONTINUE TO BE ALL GOOD ONES!!

That stemmed point is a killer. What are your feelings on the type of the one at the top (towards your fingertips)? Here's one that I found on Lake Blackshear after the big flood. Same basal thinning, no grinding on mine. Looks like the same individual could've made them.

Nice ones! The hunt isn't over till it's over and it ended well I'd say.

I've actually got one almost identical to the one you have in the picture that came from this same site. Mine is a field find though and is yellow in color. I'll see about getting a picture of it. Man, Lake Blackshear was THE place to be after that historic flood. One good find after another. But, like everyone else that rode that one out, I don't want another flood like that.

Big point has a Pickwick look to it. Lets see a clean up on it.
