The following is a group of items that we have found over the years of exploring. Can you help me ID any of them?

Petrified Egg? Sandstone around it.

This one has mother of pearl and some crystal type sediment on it. Looks like it was poured into a mold or formed somehow... Maybe a pistol but? If fits perfectly in the hand.

Iron Spalls? I have never seen anything like these, they were found about 10 feet apart.

Found this by an old homestead, appears to be a clay or bone type material...

Can't be positive because I don't know where these were found (hint, hint).

But here's my guesses:
1-2: concretion or manganese nodule, common finds in sandstone
3-4: clam fossil w/part of shell still present.
5: same as 1-2
6-7: could be a coin under there. Maybe something like a Mexican Peso with rays. Needs to be cleaned with a toothbrush, then post a photo of what's left. Could also be something like a sand dollar if there is a central hole.

No. 3 and 4 almost looks like a bacculite--a straight ammonite. Do the books mention anything about bacculites in the area? It is sort of a mold--the inside of the shell. The tapering is good, but it appears to have been a little weathered loosing most of its sell and the "suture" joints that would be on the ends. Any curvey bits on the ends?

I'm thinking picture #1,2 and #5 are iron ore.....

I use to own some property where an old Indian camp was located on top of a big sandstone outcrop. There were several of these little hollowed out spots on the sandstone. I was told by an Indian that grew up in the area that those were places where the Indians would grind their maize into meal. He said that many of the older men of the tribe had their teeth worn down from chewing the corn bread with little pieces of sand worn off in the meal. Monty

Pic #5 looks like ball bearings or grape shot. More likely ball bearings.
