any idea on these. Is the ring with the bar through it a broach or pin. the part connecting the two seems to be a hinge. I'm afraid there was a bit of metal connected to the bar in the circle that fell right off. not a very big piece.

The glass button, if thats what it is, appears to have a spot on the back where a shank was, too bad its broken.

Any Idea on the curved thing, some sort of hanger?

Any thoughts on the little buckle? Its about the size of an U.S. cent

Thanks for looking

Looks like half a early spectacles buckle... :icon_thumright:

Broach is maybe a retaining pin? And harness rings?

Don't know on the glass. :(

Not sure its a spectacle buckle as it does not seem to be broken. I'll take a closer look when I get home tonight to verify that.

I found four of these buttons similar to the one you found but made of brass. Two of these had some kind of material in them, it disintegrated into powder when cleaning. Arty

1st pic.- Looks close to some kind of broach much like these twisted broaches.

So I say it is one of some sort 19th century with the design I see on yours & a couple of the pieces might be to it. :icon_scratch:
2nd pic.-One of them look like Bridle Cheek Piece.(19th century)

2nd pic.-Buckle does look like the half of a Double Loop Trapezoidal Buckle broke in half.I see no single looped ones that close in shape.(Circa 1620 - 1680 )
2nd pic.-Button/cuff is what I'd say most likely 19th century also but some were earlier.
Also some broaches had them on it that look very simuliar.
Take Care,
Pete, :hello:

I'll have to take a closer look at the buckle when I get home to see if it is indeed just a half.

Sorry should have put something in the photo for reference, but the rings are about the size of a quarter. The horse bridle cheek piece is about 10 inches across.

well can't tell for sure weather the buckle is broken or not, but the more I look at the second picture Timekiller posted the more it looks like the left half of that buckle. Judging by how worn the bar is that the tongue was attached to it could be it is broken and worn smooth.

The buckle is definately a broken 17th century spur buckle.
