I found the cellar holes on Friday, two of them within 200 feet of each others. I hunted them for half an hour to try to see how trashy the place was or if someone else already metal detected it. I found a button and a couple other interesting items in the time I was there. I went back today for an hour or two and found two Indian Head Cents, one on an old colonial road that passes next to the cellar holes, and the other 2 feet from where my car was parked right as I was about to turn off the metal detector. When I got home and cleaned them I was a little disappointed when to see the first one I found was an 1876, one year off from the 1877 key date. At least 1876 is still a semi key date, and mine cleaned up pretty well (especially the reverse)! The other is an 1880, and in a little bit worse condition. Other finds include a doll house teacup and plate, found 20 feet apart, a nice design on both of them, maybe Victorian? I also dug a thimble, a silver plated napkin ring with a nice design that says "Emma", a really old hand cut brass thing with leather still on the back, probably from horse tack, an old bell, and a suspender clip. Some junky finds include a bunch of harmonica reeds, only two in photo, 2 oil lamps, 2 spoon pieces (found by my father, who came with me when I scouted the place on Friday), a weird thin bezel thing, a bunch of shotgun shells and pull tabs, and the two brass things in the bottom right of my last photo.

Photos are big, click on them to make them larger.

Any idea what the brass thing with the four pegs or rivets is at the bottom right corner of my last photo?

Hope you are having a good Father's Day!

Thanks!
I hope these help. I have no clue what this is probably off of. It was found around 30 feet away from one of the cellar holes, and sounded like a large cent.

Thanks, good photos of the thing!
I still can't figure out what it was part of.
I suggest you moving this one to the what is it department, then more members
will jump on it, and wrestle it to the ground from which it came...!
