Hi everyone,

Not many opp to get out here in the NE. The ground has gottten hard. I did though get a few outings here and there when it was still huntable. It's about 50% soft in the woods still. I found a few rosies some wheats and a few older jeffersons. Plus a 1/2 cent token from 1918 in bad shape.

Nothing to speak of coin wise. But I did however find a pretty nice clipped railroad lock. I tumbled it for about 12 hrs or so maybe longer. It was found in a woods above a old ball field. It was made by the W Bohannan Brooklyn NY Pat June 25 1878 Numbered 300.

Not a real valuable lock. Found one on e-bay for like 45.00 not damaged. I have a few others like it made by the same co. I really like to find these types of relics.

I also found this grenade in a sports field. It is heavy but not marked. It hits a solid pull tab on the unit. Right where it should be for gold. It's a 31 on the Dfx. I beleive it was marked on the lost clasp.

Can't wait till spring. Hope everyone hangs in there till then. Can't wait for the warm weather.

Thanks for looking,

HH Jer

Nice finds Jer, like the old lock! Hope you all warm up enough to get some more hunting in. Tim

The ground has gotten hard? Oh I havent notivced since ours is covered with three feet of snow....LOL
Great finds as always Jer!

Nice finds, Jer! Can you do a closeup of the token, or tell us a little more about it? Those are fun to find.

Good to see you post again Jer. Nice finds. Hope to see you in Dover in April.

I think that lock is cool, I used to have a gernade like that on a necklace the Orlando airport years before 911 made me dispose of. They wouldn't let me board with it. Till almost launch time with my flight I argue and finally to not miss my fllight just took it off thosed it in the trash can and went up the ramp and boarded. Great finds TY for sharing

Thanks alot everyone,

I'm still around been working alot and busy with my three younge kids. However though I am finishing up working evenings here soon. My last day is the 15th. I should have alot more time this yr to hunt. Gonna try and get my own buisness up and running.

Shrecky, I'll be there at the hunt. Looking forward to hanging out with you all again. Looks like a nice place to hunt.

I am pretty sure the grenade is gold. Probably 10kt. Not marked on the piece. I think it was marked on the loop that was attached to it. Found it in a really bad part of the city. They probably got real one's also lol.

I bet they did make you get rid of it. I think that is a little rediculous.

Yes Paul it is a ring a old fake one. Found it at a really nice old foundation. Only thing was the place was pounded to death. I found 2 signals a wheatie and a fake ring. I know it contained more. There wasn't even foil to be found. Someone beat me to it.

Here is a better pic of the token. It's a Savings Check. Worth money when deposited by a certain date. This one is for the East end savings and trust co. Deposit before Jan 1st 1918 and you will be credited 1/2 cent on 4% savings.

I've got some others. Must have been a popular token in and around Pittsburgh. I have them all the way up to 2 cents when deposited. The 2 cent ones are the size of a half dollar. Different banks though if I can recall. They don't hold up well in the ground though.

Great digs Jer. Tokens are one of my favorite thins to find. I hear ya on the work and kids. I had the bright idea to start a second business part time . Part time what a joke hardly got to hunt over the summer at all. Good to see ya back at it.
