Thought I would show my....what could have been and a few other items from today. The area I was in today is a barrier island and very little good material was handy. So what I have appears to be a broken sandstone atlatl weight and some shell net weights, shark teeth and pottery. I also have one piece that was again made from weak material that appears to be..or should I say have been a plummet. Not much left of it.

Hey bro! Thanks for the kind words. The points are pretty rare but they're there. I have found a couple. Nice drills you got there! I find that type here too. Hope you have a great Thanksgiving. Let me know if you do any hunting in the Delray area.

Hey I do have a question -- I found this in a salt pond in about a foot of water here and it looks like some sort of point, whether or not it had human help to get that way is another thing entirely lol-- whatcha think? Either way I'm keepin her! Lol

It looks natural at first glance....but.. if you have found other artifacts there anything is possible. I've seen that same type of conglomerate/ sand stone ground into perforateors,Celts, even blades.

Cool! There are three known arch sites on Boca chica itself and high ground with old growth hammock is within 100 yards of where I got it ,but on navy property. Either way cool piece, natural or otherwise! Is there a way in some instances to differentiate artifacts between the calusa and the tequestas fairly easily?

You would really have to find the artifacts insitu. In close relation to pottery. Their pottery style would be about the only way I can think of.

Good luck with that down here lol--- thanks for all the info man I'll get back to ya on Delray !

Thanks good luck
