I?m not traditionally celebrating Thanksgiving today since I?m the only American here and was out numbered many to one. The kids have school and a few good German friends I invited are working so I will celebrate on Saturday, everyone can eat, drink and be merry this way. I consider Thanksgiving the best American holiday as far as family get togethers as there is much lower stress than Christmas. I have a four day weekend and since I?m not traditionally celebrating today I got out for about 1.5 hours on a grass field I?ve been detecting. It was cold, -1.5C/29F and the field is starting to freeze. Surprisingly, it made digging and filling plugs just perfect. I found a few interesting pieces today. A large copper ring, an 1851 copper 1 Kreuzer coin, the one can be seen close to the 12:00 position and the date is at the bottom. A military button with the number ?10? on it and a tag with the initials ?S? and ?M? and a few other inscriptions I can?t make out. Hope everyone has a nice Thanksgiving and HH, Mike

Sounds like your in Germany this holiday weekend. Seems like Germany would be a great place to hunt because of WW2 and all that was going on at that time. You might even run into an old shot down fighter plane some day. Nice finds. HH and have a great holiday.

Excellent! Will think of you and your family as we sit down to dinner in just a few minutes. Monty

Strong man :) . I came in Germany from much colder region, but my season is already off.

Any idea about dog tag? I have exactly the same with letters ISC and number 31 below. Who could own that?

I'd be jumping up and down for anything 1851 Very nice finds!! I don't know my horses or ox'es but do you think the ring is from a harness of some sort? Enjoy your holidays when you can, and take care over there. HH

Interesting finds. Would have loved to go out today. A little under the weather though.
Glad someone could go out and hunt and give us something to look at.
Happy huntin.
Rob
