A few finds from March 16,17,& 18

On the 16th a buddy and I tried a spot that was supposed to be a hunting lodge in the 1880's and was supposed to have been fallen in by the 1920's. We found a lot of junk but I did manage to dig the gold plated brass thingy and the silver plated nut pick and a couple mangled up lantern parts an about 5 million zinc jar tops. The nut pick is marked 1847 Rodgers Bros.
On the 17th I went to one of my trusty old spots and dug the 2 eagle buttons, one I'm afraid I hit. A sharps carbine and another partially melted & a percussion cap.
On the 18th I went to an old house site that dates from the 1700's to the early 1900's and dug a flat button, and eagle button and a cool white glass collar or cuff stud. I also dug a broken harmonica plate and a few other odds and ends.

Nice finds vayank54. I've been looking at the gold gilded piece but have no idea what it is. I'm sure some one will chime in that knows.

Are you interested in selling the nut pick. My wife said she would like to have it. :icon_scratch: :-\

Man, you had a nice variety of finds VY!!! That nut pick is interesting. Any idea of age? I found a spoon at a CW site last week that reads "DuPont" on it. Crazy what you find in the ground isn't it? HH, Quindy.

The opening in the center of the brass thing is a seperate piece and extends out the back a bit. I believe it is a keyhole for something maybe a drawer or something like that. Guess I should have mentioned tha before :tongue3:
Yep. VOL you just never know whats going to come out of the ground and sometimes in the weirdest places.
