A few early finds from the weekend.

Still hitting the orchard... The owner has started to mow the top fields so the swinging has been easy Very old property so I want to make sure that I cover as much as possible. The only coin to show up is a Chinese cash coin, my first one Two large flat buttons one smaller and a button that has been made into a washer
The bale seal is cool but I there is not much to see as far as design or writing. The shield lookin' thing has me stumped...... Horse tack

I have found a few of those shields. Plain and decorated. I have been told they are harness pieces.

Nice finds VPR. When you find out what that sheild is let me know I have one too. Mine was just inches away from a bridal rosette, I know it doesnt mean anything but always made me think it was horse related.

I will be field hunting for a while. As he cuts a field I detect it. I am thinking that there is a REALLY nice coin here, some where. I just have to put my coil over it.
