any tector i can get my hands on
i found this on one of the few days i was feeling well enough o get out for awhile. i would rather dig things like this rather a penny. i did a scratch test and its mostly brass except for a spot just below the stem which is steel and corroded. it seems to be fairly old i'm guessing it about 40 years old. which surprised me and as always it was made in ch.ch.ch. cheena. so is it a water flow regulator used on ? 0227181603-00.jpg its about 2 3/4 in. long and heavy for its size. so into the scrap bucket and hope for scrap prices to head back up. hopefully fore i croak. oh enjoy the tunes.

As stated by others - vintage gas stove burner control valve.

Now that this has been cleared up, let’s address the slang used here on Tnet. The term “do-thingy” is completely wrong. The correct term or terms to use would be ; “Thingy-ma-bob” or “doohickey” everyone here knows a “ do- thingy” is a nonexistent fantasy item, and the two terms can never mix, much like ketchup and peanut butter, just sayin’

it says psi on the side there. if it is pertaining to gas ? i dont think its measured in psi. thats why i thought it was water related ? and its too short to be torch related.
