Okay, please tell me you have had a day like this. Got some great tips on my AT Pro and thought I would hit an elementary school dating back to 1900's. Started the day at 9:30 and hunted until 4:00 p.m. The playground was sand going down at least 12" and somewhat moist. The four ball fields were dirt and diggable down to about 6" where I ran into rocks and coarse gravel. Still not bad right? Well what I haven't mentioned is that there were those three pronged thorns throughout the sand and thorny dead vines covering the ball fields. I had no gloves and no knee pads, so every dig was equipped with thorns imbedded in my knees and pricks in my hands. OUCH! Oh and did I tell you I only found six pennies, five of which were memorials. To add insult to injury, the wheatie was the latest one made....a 1958 D. Been hunting for almost forty years and have never had such a bad day. :BangHead:

Never had to contend with thorns, but sure have had some sucky days. Stinken Lincolns are all that i found in places that should have been good.

We have all had those kinds of hunts. I have learned to leave a bin with all the items I might need including gloves, coil bolts, batteries, diggers, sand scoop, pinpointer, and rain gear in the car so that the only thing I need to remember to throw in is my detector.

Sounds like you needed a suit of armor! How do the kids play there, never fall down?

My last two hunts Murphy's Law has applied to me in Spades! Must be something in the air!
I'm hoping I get a free pass for Mother's Day at lest!
So your not alone, things will get better!
