I went to a place where I knew the hunting was tough
but the potential was high. Didn't get much, but
almost everything I found had me scratching my head. :icon_scratch:

First of all was this hit I got that rang up, *barely* as a penny.
I've learned to dig everything here. But, anyway, I pulled the plug
and tried the pinpointer. Nuthin! Must be deeper :icon_scratch:
Pried a bit deeper, stuck it in again, nuthin!

So, I stood up, used the AT on the hole......nuthin! :icon_scratch:

I checked everywhere. Still nuthin so I put the plug back and checked
again. Signal's back, weaker but there. Ok! Soooo it's in the plug !?
I pulled it again and checked it..........nuthin! :icon_scratch:

Not in the plug, nor over the hole. I ground balanced again and tried, nuthin :icon_scratch:

To say the least, I am perplexed! :BangHead:

Finally, after digging a lil deeper and then using the coin trick on the pinpointer,
I found the target! The mineralization and iron scrap in the hole wouldn't allow
me to detect the target without the trail that's left by the target sinking into the ground.

All that.......for this:

Just a wheatie BUT! Man! This place is sure becoming an education for me! :tongue3:

There were more puzzles today but they're more about what they are rather then where they were.

Here's the overall:

Non-magnetic, remnant of something, there are some characters. :icon_scratch::dontknow:

This one evidently met up with a lawnmower. I tried to find all the pieces.
But, this was all I could locate. It's has the barest attraction to a strong magnet.
I think the pieces probably go where I have them. But......:icon_scratch:???:dontknow::BangHead: LOL

Wasn't much of a puzzle, this one. But, what was it doing on top of the ground!? :icon_scratch:
I believe this might be the oldest one I've found. 8-)

Here's the wheatie again....1920.

I think Fishy likes relics too. ;)

Congratualtions on the nice hunt! :occasion14:

You always find such interesting things!

Cool stuff, Whadi! Part of the fun of this hobby is actually trying to decipher exactly what we've pulled out of the ground! I see Blingy scratching his head too...great day..Ddf

That's part of the fascination of working these old sights. Putting the pieces together to figure out what was happening so many years ago at this spot. Nice selection of interesting finds. Love the old female dog tag. I don't think I've ever seen one that specified the sex of the animal? More puzzle pieces in that dirt for sure.:icon_thumright:

Very cool finds!! WTG!! Congrats and HH

Congrats on putting the pieces of your puzzle together Whadi. Those are a couple of nice finds, and I like that dog tag.

This post is very puzzling!!! Cool finds my friend!!!!

Ahhh, a day of mysteries!

Congrats on the wheat, old dog tag,...and is Dill a belt buckle?

Fishy shares your love of puzzels. ....and Blingie...is Blingie! 😀

I like the mystery piece of metal above the gear, why? because it makes me wonder what it use to be....and i'm just nutty that way. 😷

And the signals that flat out disappear when you dig them, makes you want to put all the dirt in a bucket, take it home and practicality pan it with a pin pointer to find it!

Little pieces like earring backs & wire will do that, disappear, then reappear!

Congrats on your interesting day of mysterious puzzels!
And some goodies too!
