I got out for a bit this evening. My travels took me to a church around the corner from my house that has a cornerstone of 1953.I think I remember researching this place and the original building was in 1900.Anyway I see a fella picking up trash.I approach him and ask if hes the grounds keeper. He said no.I asked him about permission to detect? He said he would bring it up at the board meeting and asked for my name and number. He asked what exactly was my intent.I went to the truck, grabbed my MD and showed him.Dug a 1975 penny w/in 5swings.Showed him how we cut a plug and replace. No harm no foul.He seemed intrigued/impressed and said he would get back to me.

Second stop was a house deemed historic 2 mins from the church.Built in 1893.There is an old foundation in the woods that I found out belongs to this house.I knocked on the door but no one was home.

Third stop was an old house 2 mins from thatbuilt I guess about 1900.Ive been eyeing this house for 2 years and decided today was the day to ask.The owner was in his yard .I approached and asked. He said no.We did talk for about 20 mins.He said he dug the outhouse(alot of old bottles). He wanted to someday detect the yard himself. He then told me that he had a sink hole in the yard and showed me.He began poking around to see what was going on.He ended up digging some parts to CW guns or rifles,he did know what they were.He said he thought the thing "you know that you pull back to fire".LOL I said you mean the flintlock? he said I guess.Oh well, what can you do?
At least I tried.

The 4th stop was the school next to his house. This is the same school that I dug the 1905 gold plated elgin watch at. I hit the woodchip areas.I dug $3.11 clad and these 2 coins right next to eachother. These 2 were barely under the chips.I can only assume they were somebodys show and tell.I looked around on the computer abit but cannot find anything on these. The commerative coin is proof like, frosted and all.Any help would be appreciated.

Thanx for lookin,jimmy
