I went to the Country & walked around this old lake, it is a (old river channel), where the river gradually moved away, & left a lake.
Flint chips were everywhere, plus a few old 'homesites', the land is 'Government land', so no detecting or collecting. :'( :'
I gathered some acorns for the 'town squirrels', (their pecans
got frost bitten, ancient oaks grow around the lake.
I had a very nice walk , & when I left I took a load of 'trash' with me, leaving it better than I found it.
Also found an 'old bedstead' from one place, probably dating back to 'Indian territory days'.

Excellent post Fossis, excellent pictures also. Very interesting area. Talking about the flint flakes makes ones mouth water. I tip my hat to you for picking up the trash. Today's world just gives it a heave and don't think a thing about it.Thanks for the neat post Fossis,I enjoyed it.

Thanks van, I hate 'litter bugs', & pick up other peoples messes when I can.
It always amazes me that folks go out to enjoy the beautiful countryside, & then 'trash it'.

I envy your trips. As a kid,I could sit on that lake bank all day fishing even if nothing bit.Thank you for the 'cleanup'.

I am fortunate to be so 'close' to the public land, & the National Forest, & can slip away in 10 to 20 minutes, & I do every chance I get. ;)
I did try fishing also, but I am in the 'Doldrums' lately, four fish in two days, none at this lake, but just enjoyed the 'buzzards' sailing overhead, & all the birds, & nature.
