Detected a field for about 1.5 hours. The fog was rolling in on the drive home after work but I was determined to get some detecting time on a local field. After checking in at home and getting ready, I got to the field just as dusk was settling into night. Stepped into the field and started swinging, looked around at the thick fog and a grey cast above the black plowed field and thought how great it was being there in this eerie setting, I expected the Scooby Doo van to show up anytime. Found a few coins, some trash and a great time in the ghostly environment. Here?s the coins, a 1925 Brass Aluminium 5 Pfennig coin, a copper 1700s coin and a Zinc coin probably 1940ish.
Obverse of the copper coin, is struck off center and looks like a wagon wheel in the middle, some words around the legend are nearly impossible to make out, almost looks like the word Bayreuth in part of the legend, Bayreuth is a local town.
Reverse of the copper and what?s left of a very confusing pattern. I didn?t find much but it was an awesome evening. Detecting a church tomorrow while my car gets some maintenance on Veterans day, hope to find some Euro clad and later detect a field or a beach. HH, Mike
