Hi,
I found this on my first hunt. I'm not sure if it's a crushed cup or thermos top. It appears to be made of aluminum or tin, and measures 2.5" in height-2.0" across the "bottom"-and 2.25 along the "top". Thanks in advance for your help! DSC_0002.webpDSC_0004.webpDSC_0003.webp
There are no markings of any kind, and both sides are identical.
Found on an old farmstead that was used at least from 1800's.

Just a guess, better get a second opinion before tossing out potential treasure!

I've found small cups that size, have one that still has the handle on it which was mashed flat like yours, but I was able to straighten it out (for the most part). If it's not magnetic, it's likely aluminum, and most likely a small cup as you suspected.
