A crazy find... Osteopathy anyone?

Wow... I haven't been on the board for a few weeks and now everything's different!

I got out yesterday looking for an Indian trade site. Didn't find anything like that. The only thing worth noting I found was pretty cool, though. It's an enameled plaque for AOA (American Osteopathic Association) Physician. Wikipedia says the AOA was founded in 1901 and from the looks of this piece it was probably from around that time. Anyone ever see anything like this?

You never know what's going to come up in that shovel!

I could be in error but, I believe what you have is a car badge for the profession listed on it. I say this because it was something I have seen before in a private museum. The guy who aquired it received it directly from the Doc. who had it mounted on his car. It is likely somewhat later than the date you have suggested. Probably the 1920's.

Very interesting! I never thought of a car badge but that sure could be it. Thanks for the suggestions and comments!
BTW, I found it in NE Pennsylvania on a riverbank.
