You mean the beehive button?
Yes....if you put the eagle button in the What Is It Forum, someone will ID it for you eventually. My gut tells me it's a civilian button. You can PM a Mod and they will move your thread for you

Can you make out any sort of backmark? Def military, but looks like late 19th or early 20th century based on similar designs I have seen. See this post http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/what/216895-eagle-button-anchor-cannon-balls.html#post2184324 for example.

Negative. The back is all corroded and blistered.

The button in your link is similar, but different. The cross piece on the anchor (is there a name for that?) is perpendicular to the shank of the anchor on mine, it is slanted on that one. The shank on mine (the button shank, that is) is a self-shank, too.

This eBay listing appears to be the same as mine (except for a loop shank), but offers no useful information: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Antique-US-...-War-Time-Anchor-13-Star-Emboss-/251130621036

Tinman found one and posted it here, but again, no definitive information: http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/buttons/62634-eagle-anchor-button-trash-treasure.html

On those, I say cool button, make up your own back story and enjoy. Nice find regardless of the vintage.

Ahhhh, so THAT is how it is done, huh? Forgive me, I'm kind of new to this. ;)
