got out for a little bit today (2 hrs) to a house in a small town near me. I always wanted to ask the lady for permission but never got around to it. Today was the day I finally got around to asking her. It was nice big yard at a 1930s house with a slate sidewalk right in the middle of it, I thought OH YEAH! Well as it turned out, it wasn't that great. A lot of junk, I mean ALOT of junk, the iron audio just wouldn't shut up, but still managed to pull 2 wheats, 1918 and 1910, plus my first indian head of 2014, a 1900IH. and a small flat button, along with just over a dollar in clad. The quarters were 65 and 86. The nickle was a 52, the dimes n cents were 65 thru 72, the silver was just out of reach today, still a fun day, the last pics are of the indian after a slight scouring with a very fine grit sandpaper, just wanted to see how it would look. Thanks for looking and HH!!

Aha, that ole "grass is greener" syndrome. ;) Sometimes we want to hunt a place soooooo bad! Then, that magic day comes and we find out that wanting is much better than having, sometimes. LOL

Still, looks like you did fine! It only feels like a not so hot hunt because you expected so much.

WTG!

Nice finds! I haven't seen a metal golf tee before.
Hopefully things start pick'n up soon. I haven't scored any gold rings or silver coins yet this year.

amen to that lol. And its the spots u dont expect squat from that end up delivering the goods, thats what i love about this hobby, keeps ya guessing lol

Today WAS a nice day. Getting out felt good. Looks like you did OK, and I agree with Whad - you were just expecting so much more. I drove several miles last week to ask an elderly lady if I could hunt the grounds of an old, small red brick bank she owned. One dime and one penny......

yes sir, been there done that. Last week me n another guy had what id call exclusive access to two homes from the mid 1800s slated for demolition due to the flood and both looked so promising and BOTH were duds, literally 6 inches of silt on top of the yards........I found a buckle, not post worthy lol
