Got a couple things here I'm looking to ID. The football (american) shaped copper item with a hole at each end (and broken off) I have seen on here before, but don't know what it is. All this stuff came from a farm. All appear to be brass.

Thanks
John

The 1st is a horse bridle rosette. The 2nd is an ID tag. The 3rd is a... clock part? No clue on #3... ???

I would say that the first round thing that has a heart in it would most likely be a brass heart rosette.
Here is one pretty close to it.Does yours have lead in the back,What does the back look like. The other
items I don't have a clue on.
Congrats on your finds

Actually the back is full of rusted iron. The rosette is wrapped over the rusted iron.

I'll get another pic up as soon as I can.

The second item appears to be a broken on of these http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,175963.0.html
I don't know if any actual ID to their use has been found yet, but I think the concensus is part of early horse tack. Most of them have been found at early sites.

Dang you BigCy! I was 38 seconds to slow.

LOL just seconds apart. Yesterday I posted at the exact second as another member. You explained it better.

Thanks 72cheyenne,

That is the post I was looking for. I knew I saw these on here before. Mine was found on a farm with history of horses (see rosette above).

Thanks.
