This piece is a mystery to me. I was in a farm field on Friday and turned up this folded over tag.
I've removed the owner's 10 digit phone number and replaced it with the dimensions of the tag.

Usually see these kind of tags on hunting dog collars, but they normally have a hole at each end so they can be bolted to the collar.

Your probably correct...number at bottom looks like "trip" number and "hunt" number....poster should google phone number to see if matches person still.

Whitepages lists a young gent of 28 by that name,that used to live in Upperco MD....maybe same,not any more info I could see.

FWIW: No earlier than 1947, when Area Codes were first in use.
And probably a bit later than that as it took some time to see common usage.
