I have been searching and doing some research for a small coil for my Minelab Safari. I have narrowed my search down to 2 coils, either the Detech 4.5 x 7 Excelerator DD coil, or the Detech butterfly 8 x 6 DD coil. Do any Etra or Safari users have and use either of these coils and if so what are your thoughts. Either of these coils can be used on either the Etrac or the Safari. I could use some help he
re. I don't want to make a mistake. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks

I run a SunRay 8" round DD coil on my Safari and I find it a very good set up. Round coils generally have a little better depth than elliptical coils if the elliptical coils are narrower than the round coil. I have found a 1 reale at 10" and a silver thimble close to 10". Safari is a silver sniffer for sure!! I also have a spare Minelab 7&1/2"round DD coil I might part with.

Thanks for the reply gunsil.

I have the Detech 8x6 on my E-TRAC and never remove it. Found this quarter at 10" with a nail next to it...

Beautiful Seated Quarter, Pre War too. It looks like the 8x6 coil paid
for itself pretty quick. Congrat's on a Great save and Thanks for your reply SD51.
